Ok....I'm a copy cat! I love Kim's new "Pimped" Blog so I had to make some changes of my own. However, I don't have the money to have someone to take care of it for me so I had to "Pimp" it myself! Hope it's not too girly for a person with two boys. I just need a little pink in my life sometimes!
I'll be posting Christmas pics very soon...well after Christmas! Now it's time for bed!

12/10/07

Well, I think this one speaks for itself! This weekend we took a trip to the mall to check Old St. Nick out at his second job! How else am I supposed to explain how he's at the Enchanted Forrest and the mall on the same day? Hello? He works one in the morning and the other in the afternoon! How else could he pay for all those elves? Ok...so, here we are. About 45 minutes of super fun waiting in line. And as you can see, Kaden couldn't wait to talk to his new friend! I couldn't resist this picture. Nothing says happy holidays like a screaming kid. I'm so going to use this for my late Christmas cards.

Prayer Request

So, Kaden had surgery a couple of weeks ago on his ears right? Well, anyway he's been really sick this past week. He's had a fever and now his ears are draining which is a good thing. But I'm starting to really worry about him just because he's been sick for so long. Please pray for him and that God will heal him and we won't have to keep going to the doctor and medicine and all that great stuff!
I have a great pic of the boys with santa that I will post as soon as I can scan it on Monday at school!

12/2/07

December is finally here! Other than the usual holiday blah blah...not much has been going on around the Pillstrom house. The tree is decorated...and the bottom half is already undecorated. The children are nestled all snug in their beds. Nope...Brady just got up again. We'll get back to that later.
Oh...speaking of Brady, he's decided that he wants to be called Braden now. He doesn't like having a nick name anymore. However, he never answers when you call him that.
Kaden goes for his two week check up tomorrow on his ears. I'm so excited to see how well he's doing. I can totally tell he's doing better because he's started talking a lot latily! Let's see, he says...mama, dada, bubba, brady, adam, touch down, hot dog, pizza (the last three all sound the same), he says awe man...and what? That kid is so cute! I'm posting pics and then going to bed! Have a great day!!!!!!!!

A much needed break is on its way! I can't believe for the first time ever I have a job that I don't have to "request" off for the holidays! I love it!!!!!
So, we've had a rough week. Kaden had his surgery on Wednesday last week. For about 5 days he felt horrible and made sure to let us know. I stayed home with him Wed and Thursday. Tony stayed home on Friday. Poor baby! He just wanted to be held those day s and all weekend. So, that's what we did...we held him!
He went back to the sitter on Monday and played outside for the first time in 6 days. He seems to be feeling better! I'm tired though and ready for my holiday break!
I will post some pics from Thanksgiving soon!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Boy, am I tired! Between myself and Kaden both being sick this week, I'm pretty worn out! Where do I start? As you are well aware, crazy weather means sick for those of us who suffer from allergies! So, this week I successfully lose my voice by Friday. It's really hard to teach talkitive students when you can't be louder then they are! However, I did have a few nice students who tried to teach for me! Funny how when I'm teaching they don't have a problem talking but when it's them at the front of the class, they get so mad when everyone is acting up!
Next, on to Kaden. Well, we all know that he has been sick since he was born. So, last night he woke up coughing and threw up all over the place. Nice! So, we get him cleaned up...aka bath number 2... and put him in the bed with Brady. An hour later, he wakes up coughing again....and yep...throw up! Bath number 3! Tony and I traded off all night who got to sleep holdinghim! Not fun! He was pretty under the weather today and didn't eat much!
Oh....I do have great news...Kaden used the big potty today to "Tee Tee"!!!!!!!! He loves to sit on the big potty but never goes! Tonight he went and we made a huge deal about it! Hopefully he'll do it again tomorrow! I'll keep you posted!!!!

The Halloween post has finally arrived! Halloween lasted almost a week here at the Pillstrom house. Saturday, after attending 2 birthday parties...see April's blog for info on one of them...we went to a Halloween party with the college kids. Brady wanted to wear his costume so it was a trial run on the mummy. Ok...needless to say...I had a lot of work ahead of me. So, Sunday we went to a party with our small group! The kids looked great. Kaden was a clown and Brady wore the mummy again. Ok...try two was a bust. But he had fun.

This costume that Kaden's wearing is one that I made for Brady when he was one. I love it and Kaden looked so cute! He was so proud of himself!
This was the first pic of Brady in the mummy. He looked a lot better by the time we made it to Halloween night!

Look at my sweet baby boy! He loves suckers and of course he is super excited about all the candy he got Halloween.

Ok...so this is Halloween day. The boys wore their shirts that Gamma had bought them. Brady got to wear his pirate wig because it was pirate day at school. It matched his shirt really well!At school on Wednesday, the preschool kids came trick or treating to the class rooms. I totally had to post a pic of this little girl! She is Dora the Explorer and I thought she was too cute!Halloween night we went to Whit Bright's house. There were several of our friends there. Teresa and Sean brought a trailer with hay bails. We had the best time.
Kaden loved trick or treating. He was so cute sticking out his bucket to get candy! He racked up and had a blast.Brady cracked us up all night. He was the first kid off the trailer and the first to the door each time. Here's a cute pic of all the kids that went trick or treating with us. I have to say this was probably the most fun we've ever had on Halloween. Thanks to Whit for having us over that night!

Fall Break!!!!!!!!!

The perks of being a teacher are great! Today, I'm sitting here with my children on Fall Break and I couldn't ask for a better day! Mom was in town this weekend and we had lots to do! I've got tons of pics to post I hope that you will enjoy them!

First things first....Flat Stanley. Last week, I read the Flat Stanley book to my 9th graders. We're doing a project where we mail him to someone and they take pictures and send them back. So, of course Brady has to do one too! He sent his to Kierra in Brazil. Here are some pics of the big event of putting him in the mailbox.

Ok, so that was Thursday night. Then mom came to town on Friday. We, of course, went scrapbook shopping on Saturday! April found out about this new store and it was awesome! I only spent $10! We're on a budget so I'm feeling pretty good for not over spending! Then we went to church on Saturday night. It was the opening of the new building so they had 4 services! I love having church on Saturday night! I hope they will consider that more often. So we got up Sunday morning and took the boys to get a pumpkin.

Ok...seriously, could they be any cuter? I love that Kaden was squatting because I was.

He was so excited about picking out a pumpkin he couldn't decide which one! He ran all over the place. Usually we go to Cedar Hill Farm. But we just stopped by the Farmer's Market in Hernando this time. All we really needed were a few good fall pics for our scrapbooks anyway.

Of course, Brady is always ready to pose for a scrapbook picture! He was all about having his picture made and picking out the biggest pumpkin he could find. This one is not the one!

This guys doesn't understand the importance of smiling for pictures. At least I got a few of him that weren't blurry since he's always running away when you get the camera out!And then lastly...I discovered this cool little bridge that is in part of a new neighborhood. So, we stopped by to try and get a few good fall pics of the boys...and even a good family picture maybe for the Christmas Card!
Gamma never lets us take pictures of her. I was so excited to snap at least one of her with the kids! Kaden kinda looks like her in this picture. This was the best picture of the day! I love it! I cropped it a little so you could see the boys' faces a little better. They look like the best of friends! Finally a family picture that looks good. This may find its way onto the Christmas Card!
I almost forgot!!!! Kaden has a new friend! He discovered Buzz Lightyear in Brady's room the other day. I walked in a saw him just sitting there holdning him and smiling! So, I showed him how to work the buttons and now they are best friends! He hasn't even seen the movie! I guess I'll have to get on that pretty soon!Sorry this was so long! Thanks for sticking with me! I had too many to edit out this time! Have a great week!

10/4/07

What a busy few weeks we've been having here at the Pillstrom house! Brady is loving kindergarden and I love being a teacher! Tony's job is going well and Kaden is loving his new babysitter! I've put in a bunch of pics for your emjoyment! Let's start with Brady and his latest library book. "1 is for snail, 10 is for crabs" This little boy loves checking out book from the school library. More on that in a minute!

But first we spend almost every Friday night at a High School football game! Here Brady and I are making silly faces to entertain our selves!

After football...we have soccer! Every Saturday morning Brady plays soccer! He's great! He scores at lease one goal every game! What a catch!

Of course, we have to take some time out for fun! Here are the boys yesterday playing on the new trampoline!
This boy has no fear! He's decided to start climbing on the top bunk! So, you know he has a lot of fun playing outside with his brother!

And now to the highlight of the week! Brady read his first book tonight! We started out reading it together. But he started recognizing some of his sight words from school and after one time...he could read it all by himself! He makes me so proud to be a mommy! I can't believe he's growing up so fast!

09/08/07

The fair has come to town! Well, the Delta Fair! It's a lot smaller than the Mid-South fair and a lot safer! Anyway, last Sunday after church the four of us and the Taylor's headed to Germantown for the fair! This is the first time we've taken the kids to the fair since we moved here five years ago! Tons of reasons...but mostly because Tony always was working. So, this year Brady is almost tall enough to ride everything. So he and Hannah had a blast riding most of the rides! As much as I love riding rides...it was nice to have someone else ride with him! Not to mention, I was completely shocked that Brady rode some of these things with out me or Tony! Brady and Hannah on the race cars. This was the first thing they rode and it went really fast! He loved it.
The Fun House. Apparently, it was so fun that Brady had to go through it about five times! He had a wrist band to it was unlimited fun for the kids.
The swings. I have to say I'm really shocked that he didn't have a stroke on this one! He was so brave and he loved it!
Kaden didn't enjoy the fair as much as everyone else. He's too small for the rides and we made him ride in the stroller most of the night! Plus it was a million degrees outside so he was just miserable.

This is the most awesome picture of the day! What are the odds that I would get the sun and the FarrisWheel in just the right light!

Girls are GROSS!!!!!!!! He was tired of me taking his picture and he didn't want Hannah hugging him like that!
Soccer season has officially started at the Pillstrom house! This year Brady is on the Bulldogs. He has two coaches...Daddy and Coach Adam. And his best friend from preschool is on his team again! He was so happy to see Jared today. They go to different schools now so Brady misses seeing him. If you will remember from last year, Brady is a defensive machine! And this year is no different! He breaks away from the group in order to keep his goal safe! He loves playing soccer.
And a soccer game wouldn't be complete without little brother! Kaden lasted all of about 30 minutes of the game before he was drenched with sweat and tired. So, he and I left to get snacks and he fell asleep in the car!
