We've always said that we will probably spend more time in the Emergency Room than not...having two boys. Well, we were right. Yesterday afternoon we took Brady for his first stitches.
He was riding his bike in the cove and was trying to turn around. He said he hit a rock and fell. His hand somehow got stuck in the wheel and he busted his chin wide open. He was bleeding so bad. We took Kaden to a neighbor's house and off we went.
We got to the Urgent Care office and we were able to get right back. Apparently, everyone was out getting hurt because after we got there they ended up having 5 more lacerations show up. They gave him some meds to make him relax and then he got three shots in his chin! I felt so sorry for him. He ended up getting 7 stitches and was so brave!
Here are the pics from the evening. The last one is of his actual stitches and chin.
He has felt much better today. He even went outside and played t-ball with us.

Bless his heart! His stitches remind me of when I was in college; I had gone downstairs barefooted (at Blue Mountain College you aren't supposed to be barefoot outside the dorm floors) and was running back upstairs for something. A friend of mine had just spilled lemonade on the floor and I didn't see it in time...my foot slipped right out from under me and I fell chin first onto the concrete floor. I thought I had broken my jaw, but I just gave myself a whopper of a bruise. It looked horrible! You can bet I never went downstairs barefooted again! : )
I hope Brady's chin heals quickly, poor little guy!
