4/30/08

It's baseball time in Mississippi! This year Brady is playing coach pitch in the city of Hernando. At first he didn't want to play. He didn't like it last year playing t-ball because there was a lot of standing around. Well, Mrs. Hollie is coaching a team and she needed another player. She asked Brady if he wanted to play and he was excited to be on JW's team. So, here we are...the Bucks...hunter green and orange (not my pick!)...his first game! The team played on Friday but we were out of town. They won 21-11. Great way to kick off the season!
Before the game, I had to take a few pics of my handsome little man in his uniform!

Then we got to the field and they practiced for a while. Then when it was tome to play, Brady's team was up to bat first. He is third in the line-up.
Here's how the game works...the coach will pitch 4 balls to the kids. If they don't hit one of those, they get to hit it off the tee. Brady ended up hitting two off the tee and one from the coach! Great job on his first game!Daddy was the first base coach and kept score!
Here he is on third getting ready to head for home! And then there is this guy! Can you tell he's sad that he's not getting to play? I tried to keep him busy but all he wanted to do was run on the field. I did have him cheering "Go Bucks!" or more like "OH Buah". That was the best he could do!
Finally the time came to head for home! Of course he had to slide everytime! We need to work on this one!
So, the Bucks win again! 18-11! They are 2 and 0 for now.

Sad...no wait....Happy News!
On Saturday morning, we woke up and found out our dog had run away! We searched for her all day. Brady was so upset about this. He actually drew a picture of her and walked up and down the street looking for her and asking the neighbors over and over. One of my neighbors is a teacher with me and she said it was the saddest thing watching him.
So, until yesterday we had heard nothing. But then Tony got a phone call yesterday afternoon that some one had found her. We were so excited! And KAtie was excited to be home!

4/1/08

Last night I had one of those moments that you want to make sure and record so that you never forget it! I was reading a devotion...this is a new habit I'm trying to form...and Brady climbed up in my lap and asked me to read him a story from the bible I was using. So, I asked him what his favorite story was and I would read it to him. He said he likes the one where Jesus feeds the five thousand. So we read the story and he asked me to do another one. He said he wanted to hear about Jesus and the woman at the well. I'm so proud of his bible knowledge.
He slept with me last night because Tony is sick and wanted to sleep on the couch. He asked me if it was ok to pray scripture to God. I could have cired that was so sweet. So, we talked about why you pray scripture and how to do it! He prayed John 3:16 to God last night.
Oh...one more thing. After we read the stories, we talked about what they ment. We discussed what "living water" is and why we need it! He looked at me right before he went to sleep and said, "I love living water! I love to drink it. It's the best tasting water ever!!!!!"
I love sweet moments!

Still Spring Break

This has got to be the best Spring Break I've had in a long time. Oh, wait....it's the only Spring Break I've had since college! As you know, we're at mom's house in Texas. We got here Saturday around lunch time. We went to the Rainforest Cafe and the River walk. We had Jim's family over for dinner and hung out Saturday night. Sunday, we went to Six Flags with mom and my brother. I'll have to post pics from that later because I haven't downloaded them yet. Then yesterday, we went to the Japanese Tea Garden and the San Antonio Zoo. I wanted to get some good pics of the boys so I hope you enjoy!

I don't know why but I always have Brady next to a tree! Can you believe how big they have gotten?
Next is Kaden stopping to smell the flowers. I think he was actually blowing at them but it made for a good picture. Next, we have Kaden putting back the flower he picked! It's the thought that counts right?
My handsome Brady!

Can you see the evil in his eyes? I wonder what he's thinking and I'll be it has something to do with "how can I get on the other side of the chain fence!"

This is the waterfall at the garden. We were on the other side where we had to climb a million stairs...not really a million but with an almost two year old it seemed like it! Next, we were off to the zoo. We had guest passes thanks to a friend of my brother's and she took us up close as personal with the Rhinos. It was really cool. We got to go back where they feed them and take some pictures!

Thanks, Sarah! We appreciate the passes and the tour! That had to be the highlight of the day.

There are many more picutres but I will save them for when I get back! We fly out tomorrow around 11. We're going to have breakfast with PJ and mom and then it's on to the plane!

Spring Break!!!!!!

Ok, so I've tried to upload some pictures twice but it keeps giving me an error. So I'll just tell you about Spring Break so far. Let's see. It all started Friday when we got out of school at 11:00. April and I decided to leave early and spend the night in Little Rock because we were afraid that if we waited until Saturday morning we wouldn't make our flight because of the ice and snow. We left at about 3:30 and did not get to Little Rock until 11pm! Now, if you've never driven from Memphis to Little Rock then let me tell you, it only takes two and a half hours normally! But in the snow and ice and all the wrecks, it takes 7! We were so tired when we got there!!!!!!
Needless to say, we were greatful that we went Friday night! We made our flight and got to Texas on time! Kaden was so funny on the plane! It was his first time to fly and he was so excited! He kept jumping and squealing and clapping. That was the first flight. On the second plane, he colored the whole time so it went by a little bit faster! He got a certificate that said it was his first flight. The boys also got a coloring book, a post card they could color, colored pencils, and wings to wear on their shirts! They were so special...at least they thought so!
So, we get to Texas and go downtown to eat at the Rainforest Cafe! Kaden loved the Red Eyed Tree Frog! He didn't like when the monkeys would start making noise!
Then we had Jim's family over for dinner and the kids played with their cousins.
Yesterday we went to Festa Texas. Brady was big enough to ride some of the big rides! Of course that was awesome for him!!!! Kaden loved riding rides and acutally fell asleep in the stroller which he never does! We got picutres with all the characters and Kaden had to hug them all! It was so funny! I'll try to post some pictures later today if the computer will let me!
I'm not sure what we're doing today! I'll keep you posted on our adventure!

I'm 33!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, here I am. I'm 33. I'm officially "mid-thrities." Wow! Where has the time gone. My birthday week has been a pretty busy one! As a matter of fact this is the first night I've been home since last Thursday. Man, 33 is tiring. Last Friday, Kim and I celebrated out birthdays together at the paint pottery place in Southaven. It was so much fun hanging out with the girls and so relaxing just sitting there for three hours painting!
April and I at the pottery place painting out polka dotted pottery!

Here's Kim and I in out matching shirts! I just love this design on my machine! It's so cute. I wore the shirt today to school and everyone loved it!
This is Amber and I! I love this girl! We work together, go to church together and have small group together! We've grown so close and I just thank God everyday for her friendship!

So, now on to the actual birthday! Can I just say being a teacher is awesome! My kids have been counting down for a month until my birthday! It's so funny how excited they all were that today was my birthday! The day started out with lots of hugs and kisses from Tony, Brady and Kaden. Who could ask for anything more, right? I get to school and kids start heading straight for my room! Here's a picture of all the loot I got today!

The flowers are from Tony and the boys plus I put the cards they gave me on my desk. I got a single rose from Brenda. Sammi gave me a "be mine" iced cookie. Jasmine gave me the rose and teddy bear and Casey gave me the cute heart bag full of candy.

This is my in my classroom with all my goodies! As you can see behind me everyone had to write me a note on the board! And of course, to go along with Valentine's Day we were watching Romeo and Juliet!
Then I came home to this! Two cuties and lots of candy. Kaden is the candy monster. From the time I picked him up he has eaten two hershey's kisses, two chocolate hearts, some of those candy hearts with the love notes on them, a blow pop, and he just ate dinner! We gave the boys these cute balloons. Kaden is kissing his frog right now as I'm typing! He's obsessed with the balloon. And of course no birthday would be complete without some silly faces!
So, here I am....33 years old. This has probably been the best birthday yet and I'm blessed to have gotten this far!

Happy Valentine's Day

I just wanted to post a Happy Valentine's Day and Happy Birthday to me blog! I'm at school but I will post some pictures tonight of me and the boys from my birthday!!!!

1/13/08

Well, it's Sunday night and I'm actually sitting at home! Usually we have small group but they changed the time and now we'll start getting home around 6:30. I'm pretty excited about that because it won't have to be such a big deal getting the kids ready for bed and getting up early the next day.

Tony just got called into work. That stinks because I will have work out alone. And yes, I will be working out tonight. At least after I get Kaden into the bed!!!!!

I went scrapbooking last night so instead of just pictures I thought I'd post my layouts for you to enjoy!

Here's Brady on the first day of school. I love this paper. All I had to do was matte the pic and put it on the page.
Here, Brady and I are just being silly and making funny faces. I thought the monkey paper was so cute especially with us goofing off like we were.Kaden's First birthday. He was super cute that day. He was all about eating the cupcake. I just couldn't resist this sweet sticky face.

Sweet baby at his party. I love this layout. I've been dying to use this big "K" forever. I love the swim trunk paper and I love his innocent face! This is my "SON" shine. I'm not done with the layout yet. I have to put the words on it. Mom is going to make them on her diecut machine.

I had the best time with my girlfriends last night. It's so relaxing to just sit with the girls and scrap!

Happy New Year!!!! I've been so bad at keeping my blog updated but so much has been going on since we went on Christmas Break. I mean, tomorrow I go back to school and I didn't get 1/2 of the things accomplished that I had planned. So, I'm attaching lots of pics to make up for my lack of anything!

My dad came to town the first week of December. We had a blast. He and Brady made their traditional ginger bread house. It was so much fun hanging out with him.

Here's a picture of a big day in the life of Brady P. His "girlfriend" Macayla called him on my cell phone. He was so funny to watch while he was talking to her. I wish I could of heard them both talk because he was acting so silly about the whole thing. I made the cutest scrapbook page about it! Check it out at http://www.tallyscrapper.com/ just search newsygirl.Of course the month was full of traveling and visits from family. Santa came and brought the boys great gifts. But the greatest of all was the Wii that Gamma got for us!And the big boy got a four wheeler and he loves it! He will ride it all over the house but seems to be scared of it outside! I don't get it!

In all we've had a great break and I'm so excited about heading back to school tomorrow. I hope you have a Happy New year and I look forward to so many more funny and crazy stories to post this year!

Ok....I'm a copy cat! I love Kim's new "Pimped" Blog so I had to make some changes of my own. However, I don't have the money to have someone to take care of it for me so I had to "Pimp" it myself! Hope it's not too girly for a person with two boys. I just need a little pink in my life sometimes!
I'll be posting Christmas pics very soon...well after Christmas! Now it's time for bed!

12/10/07

Well, I think this one speaks for itself! This weekend we took a trip to the mall to check Old St. Nick out at his second job! How else am I supposed to explain how he's at the Enchanted Forrest and the mall on the same day? Hello? He works one in the morning and the other in the afternoon! How else could he pay for all those elves? Ok...so, here we are. About 45 minutes of super fun waiting in line. And as you can see, Kaden couldn't wait to talk to his new friend! I couldn't resist this picture. Nothing says happy holidays like a screaming kid. I'm so going to use this for my late Christmas cards.
