On My Way now that my pitty party is over, I'm proud to announce that I lost 5 lbs this week! I was really shocked because I usually don't lose that much at one time! But it happened! I was so nervous to step on the scale this morning! After logging all of my food AND all of my calories burned for the week, I was feeling really good about the scale! But as I am fully aware about myself, usually it's not a great outcome! So, I was praying for at least one pound. I would have been thrilled for two! But five? It was awesome!

My plan for this next week is this, Keep doing what I did this past week! I don't expect to lose another 5lbs, but I do expect to keep seeing results as long as I keep working!

Diary of a Mad Fat Woman

My entire life I have struggled with my weigh! Even when I was super thin, I always thought I was fat! And now after really being over weight for nearly three years, I'm finally mad about it! Not so much mad at the fat, but mad at myself for being this way!

I have always been a very active person! I took dance from age 2- when I taught it in college. While in college, I worked out and even taught aerobics. I was probably in my best shape in college because I also participated in pageants where you had to wear a swimsuit! Tony and I met at the gym in kickboxing class. And now, we go to the gym often, sometimes too often! But this week something in my head clicked and I realized that I am turning to someone who lets the size of their body dictate their life!

I really hope this doesn't offend it's just that I got so mad at myself this week I needed to get it all out!

Here's what happened. I went to the gym on Sunday and did an hour of cardio. Monday came around and my neighbor and I went walking. Two days down...looks good! Tuesday, I go to the gym for 30 min of cardio and 45 min of kickboxing. The entire class I kept hearing myself make excuses in my head. You know how the people do the first couple of weeks on "The Biggest Loser"? Every time the trainers tell them to do something that requires hard work they have some kind of excuse. Hurt knee, old ball injury, too get the picture! I just kept waiting for the instructor to notice that I was slacking so that I could give this lame excuse I made in my head on why I couldn't run as fast as everyone else. I seriously heard my inner voice practicing how I planned to say, "I can't really do this because I had a broken foot last year." Really? I was using an old injury that wasn't even bothering me to not work out as hard as I really could? And then I just got mad!

And then it happened...or didn't! She never said anything about me and i never got to give the lame excuse I had planned. It was amazing! I actually had to suck it up and actually do the work!

This week Tony and I signed up on this website. It's called It is kind of like Weight Watchers but instead of counting points, it actually keeps your calories that you eat and that you burn! It sets weekly goals that are achievable. And it's really cool because we have both gotten into keeping track of each other! I'm sure this will fade like all of my good intentions...See the blog below. But for now, I'm working hard to no longer be a Mad Fat Woman. And instead be a healthy one!

Before school let out for the summer, I had great intentions to make some improvements in my life. One of those included home improvements! I had a pretty long list that would have kept anyone busy the entire time off. I wanted to restain my cabinets, tile around the bath tub, clean the carpets, and clean out everyone's room. Well, as good as my intentions were, I found that the majority of my time was spent at school working with the dance team. About three weeks ago, I started praying that God would show me what in my life needed to stay and what HAD to go. I love how God works because when you will receive! Even if it's not the way you hoped!

I tell you this to say when God cleaned out my schedule...he REALLY CLEANED out my schedule! I quit teachinng aerobics two weeks ago and last week, I stopped sponsoring the dance team. (That's another story for another day!)

Since God was getting the "clutter" out of my life, I felt it was time to get the CLUTTER out of my house! On Monday, Amber and I took on cleaning Brady's room. After we finished we remember we didn't take a before or after pic.

So, last night, I took these of Kaden's room.

Now please don't think I let him live like that always. I try to clean his room every couple of weeks, I'm not going to lie! But what's different this time is that I actually filled 2 1/2 trash bags to throw away and three boxes for the yard sale. I condensed his toy box shelf down to two plastic bins to put under the bed. And I moved his bed to fill in the space that always seemed to be the catch all.
So, this is what it looks like now!

I'm super proud of this project because I did it by my self! Amber has been sick the past two days which forced me to let go of things I wouldn't normally let go of! It was very theraputic! He loves his "new" room. That's one thing about my kids....they mess up their rooms and never play in them. I have seen Brady since Monday because he loves being in his clean room. Kaden is playing cars in his room as I type and I'm thinking he loves it too!

Not My Child! this week I am participating in MckMama's "Not MY Child" Monday. You can click on the button above to read more about MckMama!

So, let's see...I could post forever about the things my child(ren) didn't do! Where shall I start?

The other night, Brady and I were laying in bed talking. He asked about when Daddy asked me to marry him. I tell him the story and ask him if he wants to know about the day he was born! Of course he said yes and to the story I went. At the end of the story, I tell him that when the pediatrician came in to weigh him and check him out that he peed on the doctor. Not once but twice! And my clever child says to me ,"I knew I got my talent from somewhere!" Really? My child would never think that "peeing" was a talent! I know I have taught him better than that!

Now to the other little monster that lives in my house! He has this obsession with "pooting". It's got to be a guy thing because I never sit around and talk about it unless I'm listening to my children! And of course, my child would NEVER have these conversations in public! But I have to say the one thing that I did NOT witness my child do this past week was this....We went to dinner at a restaurant on the square. I know it's tough for a little guy to eat out when it doesn't happen that often. And of course he would never stand up in his chair and yell "Pizza! Pizza!" until his food arrived no matter how much we did not get on to him and we surly didn't threaten to beat him if he didn't stop! Needless to say, he got the pizza and really did not get a spanking!

Boys Will be Boys

So, no pics today just a great little lesson of "Hey Lady! Watch your children!"

We skipped dance team practice this morning to enjoy a little rest. Actually, the boys begged me not to go all week so I made a deal of not going two days! So, we all slept in this morning! 8am! Wahoo! Then after sitting and holding Kaden for like 45 mintues (I couldn't help myself! He never lets me do that!) We finally get up and get dressed. While I was looking up lesson plans online, I notice that my children have started jumping off the arm of the couch. Next thing I know, Kaden is rolled up in a ball screaming! I'm totally thinking to myself, great we're headed to the er for a break or I guess I should have been watching them a little better. I get tohim and realize he has jammed his finger. He can bend it but cried everytime he used it! Well, what can I do but just hold him and let him cry it out!
The good news is we went swimming this afternoon and apparently it's all better! Well, i will find out when he wakes up! We got home at 4:30 and he konked out! I love those days when we play hard and the kids are tired. When we don't have those days, I just take them to dance team practice and "encourage" them to run with the girls! Those are really nice nap days!
So, boys will be boys right?

The Fort, The 4th, and The Family!

Yes, I's taken me forever to post about our trip to Fort Smith. For those who don't know, Tony's family lives in Fort Smith, AR. Actually, that's where Tony and I met many moons ago! This year, we decided to forgo our favorite 4th of July bash at the Ray's and head "back home" the the Fort. Five days and not a lot planned. (Well, I planned to hang with my BF for the first time in forever!) The first real day we were there, we just hung out at the pool with our niece and nephew. The kids had a blast! IE. Brady (look at those bones...his mom should feed him!) jumping off the ladder!

And what day at the pool isn't complete without someone throwing a baby!

Seriously! Tony and Kaden thought this was so fun! Kaden would hold the foot ball and Tony would throw him! I was crazy enough to take a picture but trust me...this came after many comments from me! As a matter of fact, I told Tony I knew exactly what I would write on my FB status if Kaden flew out of the pool. Tony asked if I would write "Tobie is a widow!" The answer....YES!

On to more events! My BF and I actually got to hang and go to dinner! Usually, I don't get to spend time with her because we are so busy with the family! But that was my main goal this trip! 5 days meant I was making time to see her! And I'm glad I did!

The 4th came around and of course I made the boys dress alike!

And they even slowed down just enough for me to snap one pic with Grandma!

We had a great time in the Fort and are looking forward to his family visiting at the end of the month! I am so glad to be home and now we're trying to get back into the swing of things!

BTW...three full weeks of summer left before I have to head back to school! That went by so quick but I'm pretty sure I accomplished almost everything on my list! Well, except cleaning out all of the junk in the house! Oh...and tiling my bathroom! Oh well! I'll get around to it eventually!
